The purpose of this study is to get students to see the importance of being born again.
What do you guys think of new year's resolutions? What is the purpose of new year's resolutions? Why do you think it's so hard to keep new year's resolutions? New year's resolutions are hard because there is something deep within us that is wrong. Something is wrong:
We live in a fallen world. It might be possible to fix ourselves, but you need to understand that what we are really fixing is just our outward appearance.
We need a deep change from the inside. We need a new heart, a new life. Sin is a disease. It changes our bodies and our lives to do things that it wasn't meant to do. We're sick. When you have a disease what do you do? Having new year's resolutions apart from Christ:
We cannot fix ourselves. But it is possible for us to be changed from the inside out. Our one and only hope: Jesus Christ. He is the great physician. Through him, we can become born again. John 3 v1-3:
Let's look at the fruits of the spirit: Gal 5:16-26 New year's resolutions are fine, but we first need to be born again. Are you indeed born again? Or are you just disguising yourself to look born again? Bibliography:
